Gern Alm - Montscheinspitze - Gern Alm

The tour begins at the Gern Alm (1,172 metres) and leads first to the Plumsjochhütte. From there, the trail continues up to the Plumsjoch. The ascent is very steep, crossing the flank to the ridge and continuing to the summit (2,106 metres). The trail is exposed in places and requires the use of hands in short climbing sections. The descent leads over the Schleimsattel. A steep switchback trail then leads back to the Gerntal valley and finally to the starting point at the Gern Alm. The route can be walked in either direction.
